Abstract
4539. Loveland, H. E. March 1. Studs; necktie retainers.-In order to retain the necktie in place, the collar stud is provided with a pin c mounted in a groove d<2>. The stem b of the stud is preferably of oblong section, so that it is retained in a horizontal position by the buttonholes. The pin, which is set at right-angles to the shank, is therefore held in a vertical position. The pin c is soldered in place in the cap d<1>, which is formed with a groove d<2> terminating in an aperture e as shown in Figs. 5 and 6. The shank of the pin is bent to form a shoulder c<2>, which abuts against the edge f above the aperture. After the pin has been attached, the cap d' is connected with the head d by bending over its edge.
