13,324. Stantial, F. July 24. Studs; sleevelinks; necktie retainers and fastenings.-Relates to a collar stud which can be converted into either a sleevelink or a tie clip. The head a of the stud is secured on a double shank b formed with ears e pivoted on pins f formed on a piece c also formed with pins g. The pins f and g slide in undercut grooves h formed in the part d<1> of the base. A spring l secured in the shank b bears on the end of the piece c, and secures the parts in position. The base is formed in two parts d, d' fitting together as shown. When the upper part d is lifted, the piece c can be slid into the position shown in Fig. 4, further motion being prevented by spring catches in the grooves h engaging the pins g. The pins f can now be lifted through slots k into the position shown in Fig. 5, and the part d replaced, the appliance then serving as a sleeve-link. The appliance is used as a tie clip by passing the head a or the head a and part d' through the buttonhole, pressing the part d against the shirt, and turning the part d<1> down so as to grip the tie between the parts d and d<1>. Where the buttonhole is large, the part d may also be passed through the buttonhole.
