Stud-and-socket fastenings.-In fastenings for the placket openings of garments &c. of the type in which forked spring arms engage a stud member, the stud member 1 is attached by sewing through holes 2, Fig. 2, bent down at 3 to keep the thread on the same level as the plate 1. The forked spring arms 8, Fig. 3, extending from a long bevelled straight edge 6 are provided with sewing holes 7, 11. The arms 8 are inclined at 10 to guide the shank of the stud, and the holes 11 are cranked Fig. 4, to leave a space between the plate and fabric for the head of the stud. In a modification, the forked member is made from wire.
