Acetylene lamps; velocipede lamps; carriage lamps.-A container for carbide is formed wholly or partly of porous material, so that water may percolate through from an outer vessel to the carbide h within. In the form shown, the vessel is entirely of porous material, the upper portion having a rubber band m which renders the cover l airtight. The cover is fitted with one or more burners n. This form is specially suitable for domestic use, and for cycle, carriage, and other lamps.
