Abstract

23,527. Gamble, H. E. Nov. 8. Engines with reciprocating cylinders.-The pressure in the cylinder is made to produce movement both of the piston and of the cylinder in opposite directions. The engine cylinder A is mounted on trunnions eccentric to the rotatory disc C which carries it, and the piston or connecting-rod J is connected to a crank or crank disc which is geared to the cylinder disc so that the two discs rotate in opposite directions. The motive fluid is introduced to the cylinder through the hollow trunnion.
