Their inner ends may be screwed into the nave, while, as shown in Fig. 1, their outer ends are split into four pieces which are bent outwards and riveted to the rim. Or, as shown in Fig. 3, the ends of each spoke may be screwed into the neck of a steel stamping or casting, of elliptical or other shape, which is riveted to the rim.
