The form shown in Figs. 1 and 2 comprises a wooden or metallic hub 1 on which keys 3 secure L-sectioned iron bands 2 at a distance apart determined by a projection 4 on the hub. Between these bands the inner ends of the wooden spokes 7 are held by wedges 8 secured by bolts 10, and the outer ends of the spokes are bolted to the T-sectioned iron rim 5, which carries the tyre 6, and is formed in two parts connected together by plates 5<a>. In modifications, iron spokes may have their inner ends bolted to the bands 2, and the iron bands may be U-sectioned.
