Abstract

19,489. Norcross, W. M. Sept. 13. Seats and seat backs.-Relates to reversible seats of that class in which, as the back is being swung from one side to the other, the inclination of the seat is also reversed. The back 7 is provided with end plates carrying studs 9, 10, of which the studs 9 travel in grooves 14 and the studs 10 travel in grooves 15. The back is supported by the studs 9 or 10 and by arms 12 pivoted at 13 to the seat frame. The seat 4 is carried on rockers 5 having grooves 18 engaged by pins 17 on the extensions of the arms 12. When the back is pushed over from the left to the right, the studs 10 enter the grooves 15 and the back takes up a new but similar position, while the seat 4 is moved to the left on its rockers, thereby changing its inclination to the necessary extent.
