Pistons.-Relates to piston packing of the kind in which the expansion is effected by a compound spring ring having parts a of a flattened-coil formation for giving radial expansion, alternating with elongated looped parts b for giving axial separation. According to the present invention, an adjustable inner flat spring ring c is threaded through the coiled parts of the compound ring, and fits against the looped portions thereof, so as to expand them and prevent them from being driven inwards.
