Abstract

13,248. Winger, O. E. June 14. Windows; glazing.-Glass panes for windows &c. are made with internal deflecting-surfaces to change the direction of the rays of light. Fig. 1 shows a pane built up of a number of blocks of glass b with polished reflecting-surfaces a. Fig. 2 shows a pane with horizontal perforations, with curved or plane reflecting-surfaces d<1> and refracting-surfaces d', d<3>. In Fig. 3 the perforations are tapered in opposite directions alternately. Light is reflected by the surfaces d<1>, and refracted at the surfaces d<2>, d<3>. Fig. 4 shows a hollow pane with a reflecting-surface d<1> and refracting- surfaces d<2>, d<3>. The dotted lines show the directions of the rays of light.
