Abstract
5804. Ivatt, H. A. March 9. Vans.-Relates to means for supporting cycles in railway and other vans. Figs. 1 and 2 show the fittings as arranged in a railway van. The handlebar of each machine is hung on a hook B suspended from a bar 11, and the back wheel of the machine, if a bicycle, is placed in a support A pivoted to a bar 3. The support A is of the form shown in Figs. 3, 5, or 6, so that it can be supported in the position shown by full lines in Fig. 1, or can be folded down into the position shown by dotted lines to allow the van to be used for ordinary luggage. The hooks and parts of the supports A, A on which the machine rests may be covered with leather, india-rubber, or the like. The fittings are equally suitable for the support of tricycles, quadricycles, &c.
