Abstract

5731. Smith, J. March 16. Wagons for velocipedes.-Relates to means for supporting bicycles in luggage vans and in show and store rooms and the like. In the arrangement shown in Figs. 1 and 2, the back wheels rest on a grooved bar b, while the handle-bars are supported by hooks c in the roof of the van. The floor of the vehicle is thus kept free for other luggage. If necessary, a second bar d supporting hooks may be introduced to receive the handle-bars of a lower tier of machines, the back wheels of which rest on the floor of the van. The handle-bars may be secured to the hooks by ropes or straps. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 3, the bar b is dispensed with, and the rear part of each machine is supported by a rod f<1> passing through the T-pin of the saddle and hinged to a rod f screwed in the roof of the van.
