Abstract

2747. Smith, F. G., and Rhodes, J. C. Feb. 3. Hubs.-A pneumatic hub is shown in section in Fig. 2. The inner hub barrel A, supporting the axle C on ball bearings D, is provided with a fixed flange B at one end and a screw-on flange at the other, and between the two flanges is an outer hub barrel E. Intermediate to the two hub barrels is a double tube F, which is held in position by clips H, and is inflated through the valve G. The two hub barrels are connected by a spring I which prevents undue relative displacement.
