Abstract
189,770. Kobiolke, A. M., and Giffney, A. J. Dec. 5, 1921, [Convention date]. Aspirating apparatus, ejector; regulating and controlling action.-In apparatus for removing air and other gases from vessels, the inducing fluid, which may be liquid or gaseous, is caused to form a hollow whirling jet or vortex into the hollow of which the air &c. is drawn. Inducing fluid entering by a pipe 9 is forced to take a spiral course through the annular converging nozzle formed between the inner and outer converging cones 28, 12 bv reason of a continuous baffle or rib extending completely across the annulus. The inner cone ends shortlv before the throat 13 of the receiver, and the induced fluid passes from the vessel 21 to be exhausted through a non-return valve 23, and a lateral pipe 18 to a continuation thereof centrally within the inner cone of the nozzle.
