Abstract
301,633. Rending, H. C., and Tulloch, T. G. Nov. 16, 1927. Density separators.-A cleaner for gases has a hollow container a, b the upper part a of which is of upright conical formation and has a tangential inlet c' of fishtail or similar form. The crosssectional area of the inlet c<1> is smaller than that of the pipe c to which it is connected, in order to increase the velocity of the entering gas. A conical plate e is mounted on four members e<1> in the hollow casing, and the separated dust passes through the annular space between the plate e and the wall a into the lower part b of the container. The clean gas passes out through the pipe d, leaving the container directly from its upper extremity. A cap b<1> closes the lower end b and can be detached for removal of the dust.
