The forks have circular extension plates 2 with slots 3 adapted to fit over the reduced portion 6 between the collars 8, loose on the axle. Pneumatic balls 12 placed between the cupped plates 14, 15 are supported by rods 11 pivoted between the plates 8. The ears 17, 18 of the plates 2 bed into the cup 16 carried by the plate 15. The collars 8 are provided with a number of holes, between any pair of which the rods 11 may be supported when the portion 6 becomes worn.
