Tyres, pneumatic.-The tyre consists of a series of hollow india-rubber chambers C, each of which fits on to a corresponding tube b, connected to a steel or similar pipe a which lies within the rim A. Each tube is provided with a back-pressure valve, preferably formed by slitting the tube towards its closed end and passing a rubber tube over the slit. The pipe has one or more inflation tubes c, each of which may have a back-pressure inflation valve. The chambers C are placed quite close together, so that the tyre can he used after one chamber is deflated. An outer cover may be employed.
