Abstract
22,439. Davidson, W. Sept. 30. Motor road vehicles.-Fig. 2 is a vertical transverse section showing the hydrocarbon or other engine B driving a vertical crank shaft E, carrying a horizontal disc-wheel H. The wheel is capable of communicating motion to the vertical shafts J through friction-wheels I, and thence motion is transmitted to the road wheels through toothed gear K, L, N. The shafts J are mounted at their lower ends in sliding bearings O, so that the friction pulleys I may be put in or out of contact with either the inner or outer driving-surfaces of the disc H. By this means starting, stopping, reversing, and steering may be effected.
