19,012. Barrett, J., Stevens, I., and Sutherland, R. Aug. 17. Chain gearing for velocipedes &c. The driving- wheel A is of ordinary construction; the driven wheel B has a plain rim, and pairs of arms D formed with lips E. The alternate links of the chain are formed with projecting arms to engage with the arms of the wheel. In the form shown in Fig. 1, these arms are formed on the central links and have T heads. In that shown in Fig. 3, the arms are likewise on the central links, and carry driving-pins; they may be formed on the side links. Fig. 6 shows a modification, in which pivoted arms are employed.
