Abstract
12,045. Parker. J. R. May 15. Locks, key; keys.-Relates to means for preventing the unlocking of doors from the outside, either by picking the lock or by turning the key left in the lock on the inside. The key A has a locking-bar B, sliding in a groove in the key, and passing through an aperture a in the head C of the key. The key is inserted and the bit is turned into a forward horizontal position to hold the bolt and prevent the key from being pushed back. The hooked end of the bar may now be pushed into the keyhole, as shown in dotted lines, preventing the key from being turned. The bar is held by a set-screw D engaging a recess b in the bar. When nut in use the bar hangs by its hooked end in the aperture a.
