10,042. Nayler, T. W. April 22. Hubs.-Relates to a combined elastic hub and coupling for the axles of motor cars, cycles, &c. The gear-wheel A, Fig. 1, is mounted upon a sleeve B between which and a liner E on the axle D are placed springs, such as rubber rings F, separated by distance rings F<1>. Motion is transmitted from the wheel to the axle, or vice versÔ, by an Oldham coupling consisting of a disc G having a pair of lugs on each side adapted to engage with corresponding slots in the end of the boss of the wheel and in a flanged slot I. Fig. 2 shows a modification, in which motion is transmitted from the axle to the road wheel, and in which a rubber sleeve D is used.
