Abstract
10,032. Pullein, J. April 22. Sofas, couches, and lounges; tables.-Relates to a trunk, which may be converted into a sofa, couch, or lounge, or into a table. The lid is made in two parts l<1>, l<2>, each of which is hollow so that cushions K, F, D, hinged head and arm rests H, R, a board to serve as a table top, binding-rods, &c. may be stowed away therein. The two parts are connected together by links P, and one of them has hinged legs. M for supporting it horizontally when in the extended, position.shown. This part of the lid is also made in two portions hinged together at l<3>, so that a leg rest may be provided. When the cushions &c. are placed or folded in the hollow parts of the lid and the part l<1> turned on to the part l<2>, the trunk is complete. To form a table the legs M which lie in the upper part of the trunk lid are raised into the vertical position, and a board laid across them, the legs or supports being strengthened by removable tie-rods.
