The guard D is pivoted so as to swing horizontally on a bracket e, the height of which can be adjusted, by the screw G set at an angle of 45‹, to suit different sizes of saws. This angle keeps the front of the guide at the correct distance for different sizes of saws. Rollers L and K mounted on the guard are pressed against the wood M by a weight suspended by the rope n. An adjustable extension H covers the edge of the saw down to the bench. When not in use, the guard D is swung out of the way, on the pivot on the end of the bracket e. The roller holds up the last corner of the timber in lieu of the hand.
