Abstract
6843. Little, T. March 16. Door and gate closing apparatus.-Vestibule and other swing doors or gates are closed by the falling of a weight, raised by opening the door in either direction. A pin c, Figs. 1 and 3, is supported in a bracket e and socket d in a casing a let in flush with the floor &c. The bottom of the door has a socket fitting over and resting on the projecting end of the pin c. The latter has an arm f with vertical guides g, j in which moves a roller spindle n. The roller travels on a semicircular inclined track k, fixed in the casing, the lowest point of which is under the closed position of the door. The roller spindle carries weights p, which are raised by the roller and track as the door is opened, and serve to close the door. The upper corner of the door is pivoted to the frame by a pin u, Fig. 5, which is first placed in a slot v, and then pushed up to engage the frame, being secured by a bolt x. When the door opens only in one direction, the track is made in the form of a quadrant.
