Abstract
6456. Gaskin, T. H. March 11. Stands for bicycles. A hollow pillar A, Fig. 1, is supported by a base B, B', the arms of which fit together and are secured to the pillar A by a nut, as shown in Fig. 2. A square pillar C telescoping in the pillar A can be raised by a rack d engaging a segmental pinion D actuated by an arm D<1>. A spring pawl E engages ratchet teeth e formed on the pillar C and supports it in its raised position. A crosshead F, pivoted on the pillar C, has slotted arms which carry clips G and H, as shown, to grip the cycle frame. Its centre forms a socket for the reception of the bottom bracket. The hook G grips the lower frame members, and the crosshead h of the clip H fits over the chain stays and secures them in position. The crosshead F may be clamped in position by a screw c<2> working in a circular slot c<3> formed in the pillar C.
An Adjustable Apparatus or Stand for Supporting Bicycles in such a manner that all parts are free for movement during cleaning; and also for Keeping Bicycles in an Upright Position at all times when not in use.
