Abstract

Cornish &c. boilers; tubes, water. -From an arch-shaped chamber A immediately above the fire-door, a series of tubes B extend through the flues to a similar chamber C outside the setting at the rear. The chamber C opens to the lower portion of the boiler by the pipe E, while the front chamber opens to the steam space by the pipe G. The tubes may be supported at intermediate points as well as at their ends.
