Laminar springs.-The return movement of a deflected laminated spring to normal position is resisted by a flexible band member e carried beneath the spring leaves, and having stirrups h attached thereto and provided with rollers which bear on the master leaf a. The leaf a leaves the rollers when the spring is flattened, but on return the rollers come progressively into operation to increase the friction between the leaves, and between the leaves and the member e, which is made of ferrodo or like material with a high coefficient of friction. A band f of similar material may be interposed between the band e and the leaves, while the stirrups may be attached to the leaf a and bear on the band e.
