Abstract

189,316. Edkins, W. J. Oct. 24, 1921. Press - button fasteners. - Relates to ornamental buttons, or to socket members of snap fasteners of the kind . comprising a hollow head 1 containing a spreader 3 and secured to the material 4 by a hollow rivet 5, the material being clinched between the flange 6 of the rivet and the turned-in edge of the hollow head. According to the invention, the turned-in edge of the hollow head is provided with teeth 2 which are deformed during the riveting operation and retain the spreader while the rivet is expanded behind the same.
