Abstract
188,304. Schavoir, A. L. Oct. 29, 1921, [Convention date]. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Act]. Moulds.-A mould for forming in one operation a number of rubber, celluloid, &c., articles such as balls, dolls, &c., consists of a pair of castings pivoted together by arms 12, 13. Each casting comprises a base 15 strengthened by cross ribs 29, 30 a second base 18 parallel to the first and forming, heating, or cooling chambers 19 therewith, side walls 16, 17, and a number of parallel holding strips 20. Blocks 22 of relatively soft metal forming half moulds are held between the strips 20 by bars 26, Fig. 3, fitting in recesses 25 and bearing on shoulders 27 formed on the blocks 22. Alternatively, the blocks 22 are held between the strips 20 by screws 28, Fig. 4, threaded in the strips 20 and having enlarged heads 26<1> with downwardly extending edges 40. The castings are locked together by cam-faced levers 37 which bear against V-shaped lugs 33 and hold in position links 35 pivoted to cross pins 34.
