Abstract

Linkage gears.-In multiple-cylinder engines wherein two valve-gears operate three valves through a beam 1 and a two-armed lever 8 carried thereby, the beam and lever are provided with ball and roller bearings. In the beam bearing, Fig. 3, roller bearings 11 are located above and below a ball bearing 12 the races 18, 19 of which are carried by flanges 17, 20 on sleeves 16, 21 arranged around the fulcrum sleeve 15 and within the boss boring respectively. The ends of the boring are closed by caps 22 provided with sealing-grooves 24 and packing-rings 25. In the lever bearing, Fig. 5, the weight is taken by a ball bearing 36, the races of which are arranged between the races 32, 33 of the rollers 28. A cover ring 44 is arranged above the sleeve 34. The interior of the bearings and also the bearings at the ends of the levers are supplied with lubricant from cups.
