Abstract

185,681. Prym, H. Nov. 29, 1921. Scrubbers and washers.-Filling-bodies for reaction and absorption towers are made of sheetmetal strip a bent into the form of a short tube. Both ends of the strip are bent inwards, either for a short distance, as shown in Fig. 2, or so that they cross the tube and touch the inner wall, as shown in Fig. 6, the bent-in ends in each case being at an angle with one another. Or the ends may be bent inwards in a rounded form, as shown in Fig. 4. The walls of the tubes may be of corrugated or other form, and the two bends b may be in contact with each other to increase the strength of the tubes.
