Abstract
185,316. Hone, G. J., and Westwood & Co., Ltd., J. Aug. 22, 1921. Addition to 124,316. Grab-buckets.-The grab described in the parent Specification is discharged by dumping, or by supporting the frame of the grab on a second crane-chain. According to the present invention, means are provided whereby the grab may be opened by a discharging-ring n, the hook f being disengaged from the pin e by relative movement between the cross-head g and the ring n. In the arrangement shown, the cross-head g carries a lever m, which can pass up through the ring n and is returned to its normal position by a weight p or by a spring. On lowering the closed giab from the position shown, the lever m is held by the ring, and by means of a chain o withdraws the hook f to release the buckets.
