Abstract

185,189. Bowker, J. W. May 27,1921. Covers for exposed seat-bottoms.-A seat 7 with a hinged back 8 which folds down to provide a cover for the seat, has a spring catch for retaining the back in the upright position while the seat is in use. A flat spring 13 with a rear rib 13<c> is fixed to the seat and engages a rib 16a of a catch 16 fixed to the back to prevent the back swinging forward until the catch is released by a plunger 19 slidable in a hole in the seat. In a modification, the spring 13 is extended and bent to engage the lower bar 8<b> of the seat back.
