Abstract

184,068. Wardill, J. Aug. 19, 1921. Riding-saddles; lining-materials. - An exercise saddle is constructed with an outer cover a, Fig. 1, of pressed or buffed leather and a lining b of felt with intervening stuffing forming pads c, and a short metal tree d disposed transversely at the forward end between cover and lining. The tree d, Fig. 5, has its ends d<2> looped through slots f in hooks e and riveted to the main portion of the tree. A portion of the outer cover provides flaps h covering pcckets g which enclose the hooks e, and the felt lining of the inner portion of the pockets g may be covered with a piece of thin leather. Girths j, k are sewn between the cover a and lining b, their outer ends being secured by buckles l and straps m.
