Abstract
183,931. Henderson, M. Bland. May 2, 1921. Underbodices. - Relates to a bust bodice or underment shaped to the figure with some parts extensible and other parts practically inextensible. Each front half a is made from a single piece which is of the form shown in Fig. 6, and which is taken in to fit the figure, a dart d, Fig. 1, being made at the breast and the part f being overlapped and stitched. The shoulder part a' is joined to the corresponding part of the back i, Fig. 3 and detachable elastic strips may be used. The back piece has a tuck at i<1> and is cut to join up with wedge shaped pieces j cut on the cross. The parts h under the arms are reinforced by stiffeners and the garment is secured in front by lacing or otherwise and held down by suspenders. Pantaloon garments.-A similar type of garment is described which terminates at the bottom in a bifurcated portion, is used under a bathing costume, and is preferably made of waterproof net with the extremities of the legs drawn in by elastic.
