Abstract

183,265. Dawson, J. H. April 26,1921. Stoppers seated by gravity.-A cover 6 for jars &c. has an extending tongue 7 on which is pivotally mounted a cranked blade 10 received in a socket 4 rigidly mounted on a spring clip 1 encircling and secured to the jar &c. and adaptable for various sizes of vessels. As shown, the clip 1 has rounded ends 2 and the socket 4 is formed of strip metal with its ends 5 bent over the band of the clip. The blade 10 is cranked downwards and outwards at 11, and its end 12 is bent over a pivot pin 9 mounted in lugs 8 depending from the tongue 7 which serves as a means for opening the cover.
