Abstract

Switches; locking and unlocking.-Relates to switches of the type in which the movable contacts are carried by a member slidable on a fixed stem, and frictionally held by a spring grip device acting on the stem. The switch comprises a stem a, an operator d slidable on the stem, a pair of transverse gripping members h located in slots g in the operator d and adapted to grip the stem a, a collar i freely mounted on the operator d and having a washer j with inclined surfaces which co-operate with the projecting ends of the gripping pieces h, and a compressed spring l which produces an inward pressure on the gripping pieces h to engage the stem and hold the operator d in position.
