Bottling. -In apparatus for filling receptacles with liquids and comprising a revoluble frame carrying a series of depending charging members, each of the members comprises three concentric tubes communicating at their inner ends with a filling head and at their outer ends with an open nozzle; the two inner tubes serve for the passage of gas the innermost tube, which slides within the fixed intermediate tube, being fixed to the nozzle, while the outermost tube has clearance with the intermediate tube for the passage of liquid to the nozzle which is adapted to be moved outwards to enter the receptacle to be filled. The filling apparatus has a series of depending members, each comprising three concentric tubes 63, 64, 65, Fig. 2, of which the tubes 63, 64, which form a telescopic tube, serve for the passage of gas and the tube 65 for liquid, and all the tubes lead into a nozzle 66. The nozzle, which carries a resilient plug member 69 to engage the bottle, is fixed to a boss carried by a sleeve 67, Figs. 2 and 3, which surrounds the tubes 63, 64, 65, and sliding within the neck of the centring cap 82 supported by a lug 83 engaging beneath a collar 84 thereon. The lug 83 is attached to a rod 73 reciprocated by cam and lever mechanism and carrying a lug 74 to which is secured a rubber valve member 71 located above a boss 70 on the upper end of the sleeve 67 and connected by a pin-and-slot connection to the lug 74. When the rod 73 descends, the plug member 71 makes a gas-tight joint with the boss 70 and moves it, the sleeve 67, the tube 63, and the nozzle 66 downwards, the cap 82 also descending until it is stopped by the bottle when the lug 83 leaves the collar 84 and the continued descent of the sleeve 67 carries the nozzle 66 intothe bottle mouth.
