181,562. Achterfeldt, C. A. April 27, 1921. Rolling.-Metal rod or wire is reduced to less than half its original cross section at one pass by rolling between generally spherical rolls a, so disposed as to give simultaneous radial pressures on the wire from more than two sides. The rolls may be grooved or ribbed to produce circular or non-uniform wire, and may be driven continuously in one direction or with reversals. In another example, six rolls are used.
