Weed-cutting machines.-An implement for beheading charlock and like weeds, of the type in which wires extending between the arms of a rotating spider engage the weeds, has the frame carrying the spider pivoted upon the axle of the carrying-wheels. The main frame a is supported on the through axle b of the carrying wheels c. The @ider frame f is pivoted on the outer ends of the axle b and carries a shaft h on which are mounted the fourarmed spiders g. Wires j stretch between the extremities of the arms. The shaft h is driven from a sprocket-wheel k on one of the travelling wheels, this sprocket-wheel wheel driving through a chain l a sleeve carrying a pinion o on a stub-shaft n, the pinion o driving a pinion on the shaft h. The bearing i of the shaft h may be adjusted laterally to move the pinions out of mesh. The height of the frame f may be adjusted by hand-levers q, each side of the frame being independently adjustable.
