Manure distributors.- The box of a machine for distributing artificial manure is provided with a slotted bottom, to the slots of which the manure is conveyed by reciprocating screen-like appliances. Fig. 1 shows the box inverted and Fig. 3 shows the driving-mechanism. The side walls 1, 2 of the manure box are connected by slots 4, beneath which are reciprocated frames 31, 33 carrying wire netting 32, 34. Below the netting is a stationary slotted bottom 35 removably held in place by cross laths 37 and notched fittings 38, 39. The frames 31, 33 are reciprocated by adjustable double eccentrics engaging in forked pieces 23, 24 and driven by bevel-gearing 14, 15 and a clutch 10 from one of the travelling-wheels 6. which are mounted on axles 7 supported in frames 8 on the ends of the manure box. The eccentrics are at an angle of 180‹ with one another and consist of discs 17, 18, carried by a hollow shaft 16, and having eccentric bearing in discs 19, 20 surrounded by straps 21, 22. The movement of the frames 31, 32 is regulated by means of a slotted index finger 25 adjustably fastened to the disc 20 by a wing screw 26 and mounted on a shaft 2S carrying a slotted arm 29 engaging a pin 30 on the disc 19. A setting scale is provided on the disc 18. For cleaning purposes, the cross slots 37, bottom 35, and frames 31, 33 are removed. The eccentrics and forked pieces 23, 24 may be replaced by cranks and connecting-rods.
