Airships; aerostats; cars; propelling; planes, arrangement of.-An airship comprises two parallel longitudinal series of independent gas-containers, the containers of each series being spaced apart upon a longitudinal shaft, and the two shafts being connected together by rigid members which pass through the spaces betwen the containers and support a centrally-suspended car. Figs. 1 and 4 show series of cylindrical containers 16 and end containers 18 mounted in spaced relation upon hollow longitudinal shafts 17 passing axially through them. Each container is independent and provided with intake and outlet openings closed by plugs 19. The shafts 17 are connected together by transverse beams 10, and inclined members 11 extend from the shafts to a ridge member 12 connected to certain of the beams 10 by vertical members 13 which support an observation tower 14. A car 15 is suspended from the beams 10, and is provided with front and rear propellers 21, 22 and a rudder 23. Planes 20 extend horizontally and outwardly from each series of containers.
