Digester covers.-A digester 2 mounted in a casing 6 with heating burners 26, is provided at the top with an elliptical opening adapted to be closed by a lid 7 engaging the underside. A counterbalance 10 supports the lid by a cord 14 and screw 13. A bridge 21 pivoting on a stud 22, can be swung over the opening, a gap 23 in the centre embracing the screw 13 so that on screwing down a wing nut 20 the lid is secured. The lip 8 of the cover is provided with a ring 9 of packing- material.
