Abstract
177,769. Soc. Franþaise Radio-Electrique. March 29, 1921, [Convention date]. Electric driving-mechanism; carriage-returning mechanism.-The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) describes a method of returning a typewriter carriage to its starting point by an arrangement shown in Fig. 6 (Cancelled), the paper being simultaneously shifted through one line. The carriage a<1> is attached at b to a belt a carried by loose pulleys d, e, but, at the end of its travel, it starts a motor and subsequently locks the pulley e to a revolving shaft driven thereby. The carriage is thereupon returned and, on reaching its starting point, it unlocks the pulley e and stops the motor. The letter magnets of a type-printing receiver may act directly on the type-bars of a typewriter, or may act on a set of levers arranged to manipulate the keys of a typewriter. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted, but is included in Specification 201,186.
