Cylinders, ports and passages of.-The exhaust ports 1 extend about half-way round the cylinders and their top and bottom edges, and the flat top 4 of the piston are inclined to a plane which is normal to the cylinder axis. The cylinder head is also parallel to the piston. The invention is used in an engine in conjunction with the lubricating system described in Specification 180,361, [Class 12 (iii), Lubricators &c.], and the air-tight crank-shaft packing described in Specification 175,940, [Class 122 (v), Stuffing-boxes &c.].
