Lighting and heating systems; systems of charging and discharging galvanic batteries. -The usual cut-in switch d, Fig. 1, of a battery system controls through a connection 10 the circuit of a solenoid switch e adapted to connect the lamp or other circuit q across a portion of the battery p when the battery is on charge and across the full battery when the battery is on discharge. In the modification shown in Fig. 2 a solenoid switch r is placed in the discharge circuit of the battery and is adapted to cut in an additional section when the discharge current reaches a predetermined value.
