Abstract

Thrashing-machines having a shaker and return motion tray f beneath the straw-shakers b and a double cleaning device, are fitted with a shoot or return motion tray k beneath the first cleaning device m so arranged as to feed the grain to the second cleaning device j<1> without the use of an endless conveyer. The tray k has an upwardly inclined extension v leading to a sieve r through which the grain falls on to a tray f<1>, while dirt passes over to a trough h<2>. Falling from the tray f<1> the grain is acted upon by a blast from the fan n, or a hummeller may be interposed, after passing which the grain meets the air blast on the screen o<1>. The grain passes through the screen s and tails from the screen s<1> into a worm t by which it is conveyed to sacks at z.
