Abstract
174,176. Kent, W. G. Oct. 18, 1920. Light-subduing screens for drivers.-For the use of drivers on vehicles, a light-subduing screen of semi-transparent material is so arranged as to be readilv mounted in an horizontal position on the wind-screen and when so mounted can be turned into a vertical position in the line of sight of the driver. The screen A, Figs. 1 and 2, of smoked or stained glass, is mounted on an horizontal bar B, which is carried in bearings C on cramps D. These cramps are in two parts pivoted together at the centre, the outer extremities being connacted bv a screw F. One bearing C has notches cut in the face to engage a stop G on the bar B, the stop being kept in engagement by a spring I. In a modification, the screen A is circular and pivoted by a ball joint O to a single cramp, secured to the top of the wind-screen by a bent plate M which is operated by a screw F, the ball joint 0 being held in a socket in the cramp by a hinged plate P which can be tightened by means of a screw R.
