172,921. AndrÚ, H. Dec. 14, 1920, [Convention date]. Theatrical appliances. - Relates to movable stages to facilitate the rapid change of scenery. Fig. 1 shows, in longitudinal section, a stage in accordance with the invention, and Fig. 2 a transverse section. A person in the stalls is indicated at 4, Fig. 1. According to the invention, the scenery is arranged in separate chambers on carriages 12 which are moved successively in front of the proscenium opening 2 on rails and hoists. Lateral compartments 8 and a rear compartment 9 are provided on the stage level. Corresponding compartments 6, 7 and an additional front compartment 5 are provided at a lower level. A carriage 11 from an upper chamber 10 can be brought into position by a hoist 26. The carriages 12 may be raised above the normal stage level or tilted at any desired angle by means of jacks 51, Fig. 4.
