Delivery of sweets, cigars, &c., stored in piles; coin action, weight and multiple-coin.-In apparatus of the kind in which a semicylindrical rotatable tray operated by an external handle is normally locked by a vertical sliding plate which also closes the coin slot when all the articles are delivered, the plate D resting on the end wall C<2> of the tray C is locked by two levers E, F engaging projections D<3>, D<4> on the plate. The levers are released by two coins inserted in a shoot G. the first coming against a stop D<5> and the second resting against the edge of the first. Then walls of the shoot are cut away at G<2> leaving two narrow strips G<3> which prevent two thin coins from passing side by side. The bottom of the shoot is stepped at H, H<1> to prevent the coins from sticking when the plate D with stop D<5> is raised by the rotation of the tray, the coins then rolling down a baffle J to a coin-receiving track J<1>. A partial backward and full forward rotation of the tray to deliver a second article without prepayment is prevented by the lever E engaging an additional catch N. Fraud, preventing. - The shoot G comprises two portions inclined at an acute angle to each other to prevent actuation by wire. Coin-slit closing-devices.-A second plate K raised with the plate D has a projection K<2> which rocks a plate L to close the coin slot. A spring M pressed back by the articles comes under the plate K, when all the articles are delivered, to hold it in the raised position.
